IITM Murthal Sonepat was founded in 2010, and since then, the IITM Sonepat has played an important role in delivering technical talent and know-how to the country, as well as in research. The IITM Group of Institutions Sonepat campus is spread across 13 acres of land which is only 30 km from Delhi. Sonepat City is roughly eight kilometres away from the IITM Sonepat campus. The institution is supported by the DM Educational and Charitable Trust and provides a variety of courses through its three distinct sub-bodies namely the IITM College of Pharmacy, the IITM College of Science, Art, and Commerce and the International Institute of Technology and Management.

The IITM Sonepat scholarship programmes include the following: 

West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme: Students would be given loans under this programme worth up to Rs. 10 lakhs, enabling them to continue with their college studies without worrying about the cost. 

Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme: It is a scholarship scheme for students having domicile in Jammu and Kashmir.

Saksham Scholarship Scheme For Especially Abled Students: This is an effort to provide every young person, regardless of ability, with the chance to continue their education and get ready for a prosperous future.
